Temporary files created during backup, import/export, and upgrade (Office SharePoint Server)

In Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, when you use built-in SharePoint backup tools, temporary files are created while backup files are created. These files are created at the same location where the backup files are created. When you create a location to store a backup file, allow enough room to store the original files and data, plus approximately 25 percent additional space for the temporary files. The temporary files are not deleted when a process is completed. Over time, you should schedule a task to delete temporary files.
