Notifying users about the Remote Web Workplace

Users are notified about the Remote Web Workplace by one of the following methods:

Welcome E-mail. All new users receive an e-mail message welcoming them to Windows Small Business Server 2003. This message contains a brief description of the Remote Web Workplace and a link to a Help topic explaining its features.

Note

  • When this message is sent, the Remote Web Workplace might be offline, or the user might not be connected to the Internet. For this reason, the welcome e-mail refers to the Remote Web Workplace as a potential feature that might not be active. Users are directed to contact the person responsible for their network to find out if the Remote Web Workplace is available.

Remote Web Workplace Users E-mail. All members of the Remote Web Workplace Users security group receive an e-mail message that describes the location and features of the Remote Web Workplace. This e-mail is sent when:

  • The address for the Remote Web Workplace changes, and the Remote Web Workplace is enabled in the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard.
  • The Remote Web Workplace is enabled, and a user is created and added to the Remote Web Workplace Users security group through the Add User Wizard.
  • The Remote Web Workplace is enabled, and a user is added to the Remote Web Workplace Users security group through the Change User Permissions Wizard.

  • Your e-mail and calendar
  • Your computer’s desktop
  • Your company’s internal Web site

[If the Remote Web Workplace address is known:]

This Web site is located at [Remote Web Workplace URL]. Note that this address might be different from any that you have previously received. We recommend that you record this address for reference when you are away from your company.

[If the Remote Web Workplace address is not known:]

Contact your administrator for the location of this Web site. Note that this address might be different from any that you have previously received.
