Step Reference

Use the System Preparation tool (Sysprep) on the guest operating system to prepare the virtual hard disk for distribution.

Shut down the virtual machine that you want to copy.

Use the file system to copy the virtual machine configuration file and virtual hard disk file and paste them in the folder where you want to store them.

Add the copied virtual machine to Virtual Server.

Add a virtual machine from an existing configuration

If you want to modify the virtual machine's properties or add optional components such as a virtual SCSI adapter, additional virtual hard disks, or additional virtual network adapters, configure the virtual machine as needed.

Configure Virtual Machines

If you want to configure startup options such as automatic startup or a user account under which to run the virtual machine, modify the appropriate virtual machine property.

Guest operating system licenses are not included with Virtual Server. You must ensure that you are appropriately licensed for all operating systems and applications that you install on a virtual machine.
