This guide provides procedures and guidance for updating (also known as patching) the compute nodes in Windows® HPC Server 2008 with Microsoft® software updates. Best practices and scenarios for updating the compute nodes are described. Step-by-step guidance is provided for applying updates to compute nodes by using node templates in HPC Cluster Manager. This guidance relates only to software updates that are available through Microsoft Update or Windows Server® Update Services (WSUS).
