Requirement Messages for Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Technologies Setup

Updated: May 27, 2009

Applies To: Windows SBS 2003

This document is for informational purposes to review the types of requirements you may encounter when you begin to install the Microsoft Windows SBS 2003 R2 Technologies.

When you start the R2 Technologies Setup, it automatically checks to ensure that the installation requirements are met. The requirements are either blocking requirements, which means Setup cannot continue if they are not met, or warning requirements, which means a condition exists that may cause problems with your installation. If the blocking or warning requirements are not met, you receive a message telling you that they are not met. (You may also receive a message that is only informational.) In Setup, you can then double-click the requirement that is listed and read the details for it—for example, an action that you must take before you can begin the upgrade.

This document is a reference to all of the blocking and warning requirements, as well as to the details associated with each requirement.

noteNote
This document references only the requirements for Windows SBS 2003 R2 Technologies Setup. For installation requirements messages for Windows SBS 2003 SP1, see the Microsoft Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=49935).
