Revocation in Rights Policy Templates

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

Revocation conditions are specified in rights policy templates. The revocation condition values that you type in a rights policy template are captured in an XrML REFRESH tag in the publishing license that is issued against that template. The resulting use license that is issued by the server will also contain the REFRESH tag.

The following table lists the parameters that are in the REFRESH tag.

Parameter Description

ID

The revocation list ID.

ADDRESS

The URL or UNC path where the revocation list can be obtained.

PUBLICKEY

The public key of the revocation list issuer. This public key corresponds to the private key that was used to sign the revocation list.

INTERVALTIME

The maximum age of the revocation list, in days. If the cached revocation list is older than allowed by INTERVALTIME, the RMS client obtains the most recent revocation list from the URL that is listed in ADDRESS. This ensures that an up-to-date revocation list is used.
