Add a virtual machine from an existing configuration

To add a virtual machine from an existing configuration

  1. Open the Administration Website.
  2. In the navigation pane, under Virtual Machines, click Add.
  3. Do one of the following and then click Add:
    • Select the virtual machine from the Known configuration files list. The list includes all virtual machine configuration (.vmc) files located in a folder specified in Virtual Server Search Paths.
    • In Fully qualified path to file, type the complete path to the virtual machine configuration (.vmc) file.

Important

You must install Virtual Machine Additions on all virtual machines. The version of Virtual Machine Additions included with Virtual ServerĀ 2005 is the most recent and should be installed on any virtual machine running earlier versions of Virtual Machine Additions. For more information, see Installing Virtual Machine Additions.
