This chapter describes Microsoft® Operations Manager (MOM) maintenance tasks and best practices arranged in a lifecycle order, according to the Microsoft Operations Framework. The Microsoft Operations Framework lifecycle includes Changing, Operating, Optimizing, and Supporting. This chapter addresses the MOM system as a whole and discusses high-level goals for MOM. The content in this chapter crosses the MOM components. Specific information about the guidelines in this chapter are in subsequent chapters that focus on each of the MOM components.
