Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

Updated: August 31, 2007

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

Device Manager displays the following message in the Device Properties dialog box, on the General tab, in the Device Status text box:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Diagnosis

A device driver notified the operating system that the device failed.

Resolution

Repair code 43

I inserted my travel drive and I got code 43 (it didn't recognize the usb device, re-insert or replace). How can I retrieve the data on this tavel drive. Thank you.

Can someone out there answer this? This isn't the only person experiencing this issue. Why won't Windows 7 connect with my hard drive?

Similar Problem
Im having a similar problem with any USB human interface device i use (e.g. Mouse) i plug in a hub then the mouse and it works fine.

My mouse worked great, then today I all of sudden got this message

Same problem
My mouse stoped working, and I cant get it working again. Tested mouse and works perfectly on other computers.

USB Port config in bios corruption
Reseting the bios configuration resolved this conflict for me.

Printer error code 43
I reinstalled the driver and it worked(the problem was about my printer,1-right click on the printer device 2-correct error(smt like that) 3 choose install driver(smt like that))
