Delete distribution lists

To delete distribution lists

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

  2. In the console tree, double-click the domain node.

  3. Click the folder that contains the distribution group.

    Where?

    • Active Directory Users and Computers/*YourDomain/*Folder
  4. In the details pane, right-click the applicable distribution list (group), and then click Delete on the menu. Alternatively, you can click the applicable distribution list (group), and then press Delete.

Notes

  • To open Active Directory Users and Computers, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.

  • Message Queuing distribution lists are distribution group objects in Active Directory.

  • When a distribution list is deleted, it is automatically removed from all the distribution lists of which it is a member.
