Updated: May 1, 2008

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

In Windows Server 2008, you can use the Security Configuration Wizard (SCW) to reduce the attack surface of your servers by modifying security settings for roles, role services, and features. Use SCW to help maintain a secure server configuration after initial role installation with Server Manager. For details about the changes in SCW, see Security Configuration Wizard.

There are changes in SCW in the following areas:

  • Installation

  • How SCW helps to secure servers

  • Windows Firewall with Advanced Security integration
