Checklist: Create a Custom Install Image

Applies To: Windows Server 2008

You can use Windows Deployment Services to deploy an image that contains a Windows installation as well as many other applications that are common to your environment. If you create one image that contains multiple installed applications, then whenever someone builds a new computer using that image in Windows Deployment Services, they will install required productivity applications at the same time. In addition to lowering the time it takes to install multiple applications, your users receive the added benefit of increased consistency in which applications are installed on their computers.
