These logos help customers differentiate applications that comply with best practices for compatibility, security, reliability, availability, manageability, and support.

Windows Server Hardware Logo Program

The Windows Server Hardware Logo Program qualifies hardware products for compatibility on Windows Server. The benefits of using logo-qualified hardware products are:

Consistent hardware purchases. Hardware products that are logo qualified for a specific version of Windows Server may help you more easily meet corporate purchasing criteria related to customer needs.
Lower support costs. Because products that qualify for the Windows Server 2008 logos must meet higher standards of reliability, availability and serviceability, and have Windows compatibility engineered into them, there should be lower support costs and reduced product returns.
Easier updates. Drivers that pass testing by Microsoft for the Windows Server 2008 logo program can be distributed on Windows Update (the online extension of Windows that helps keep computers up to date with the latest software updates and device drivers).

How do products qualify for these logos?

Hardware, software applications, and device drivers can qualify for these logos by meeting the requirements published in the Windows Logo Program. Hardware vendors must test their own products using a downloadable test suite and submitting passing test results to Microsoft. Software vendors must submit their products to an independent 3rd party testing authority to ensure they meet the testing requirements for the Windows Logo Program.
