IIS Web Management Service (WMSvc)

The Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Management Service (WMSvc) enables remote and delegated management of a Web server and its Web sites and applications.


The following is a list of all aspects that are part of this managed entity:

Name Description

IIS Web Management Service Authentication

Clients can connect remotely to the Web Management Service on a Web server in order to administer that server. If connectivity issues occur, the client may not be able to administer the Web server.

IIS Web Management Service Availability

The Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Management Service (WMSvc) is necessary for remote and delegated management of Web servers. If this service is not available on a Web server, you will not be able to administer that server remotely.
