Aspects

The following is a list of all aspects that are part of this managed entity:

Name Description

NPS Accounting Request Message Processing

Network Policy Server (NPS) receives accounting request messages from configured RADIUS clients. Depending on the accounting configuration of the server running NPS, the accounting request will be logged in either a log file or a SQL Server database.

NPS and Domain Controller Communication

Network Policy Server (NPS) contacts domain controllers to perform authentication and authorization for connection requests received from configured RADIUS clients. If NPS cannot contact domain controllers, it cannot perform authentication and authorization, and network access authentication will fail.

NPS Authentication Status

When Network Policy Server (NPS) is configured as a RADIUS server, it performs authentication, authorization, and accounting for connection requests received from configured RADIUS clients. If authentication and authorization are successful, users and computers are granted access to the network resources for which they have permissions.

NPS License Compliance

The Network Policy Server (NPS) configuration must comply with the Windows operating system license restrictions for the component.

NPS Processing Status

Network Policy Server (NPS) processes connection requests that are received from RADIUS clients.
