HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Description

The Internet Settings subkey is one of several subkeys that store entries for Group Policy settings for Internet Explorer. Group Policy creates and maintains these entries, and the Internet Explorer program reads and interprets them.

The Internet Explorer Group Policy settings appear when the Inetres.adm file is added to Group Policy. By default, this file is added automatically.

In Group Policy, the Internet Explorer settings appear in the following folders:

  • Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer

  • User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer

Note

  • The Internet Explorer folder in Group Policy is created by the Inetres.adm administrative templates file. This file is included in Windows ServerĀ 2003, and it is loaded automatically when you start Group Policy.
