To enable binding to ADAM instances running on Windows XP Professional computers joined to a workgroup

  1. Open Registry Editor.

  2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the registry subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa.

    Where?

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    • System

    • CurrentControlSet

    • Control

    • LSA

  3. In the details pane, right-click forceguest, and then click Modify.

  4. In Value data, type 0, and then click OK.

Caution

  • Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on the computer. You can also use the Last Known Good Configuration startup option if you encounter problems after manual changes have been applied.

Note

  • To open Registry Editor, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
