MinFileBytesPerSec Metabase Property

Updated: August 22, 2005

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

The MinFileBytesPerSec property is used to configure the minimum throughput rate that HTTP.sys enforces when sending data from the client to the server, and back from the server to the client. The MinFileBytesPerSec property prevents malicious or malfunctioning software clients from consuming resources by holding a connection open with minimal data. If the throughput rate is below the MinFileBytesPerSec setting, the connection is terminated.

In IIS 6.0, use this property in conjunction with the ConnectionTimeout property, and for Web service nodes, use the HeaderWaitTimeout property instead of the ServerListenTimeout property.
