Review the following known issues before you use the Windows Firewall log file.
-
Logging is available only on connections for which Windows Firewall is turned on. This applies if you configure per-connection settings because no information is written to the log file for connections that are not protected with Windows Firewall.
-
Outgoing traffic that successfully reaches its destination is not logged. In addition, outbound traffic that is not blocked is not logged.
-
The default size of the Windows Firewall log file is 4,096 kilobytes (KB); the maximum size is 32,767 KB.
-
When the Windows Firewall log reaches the size that you set in Size limit (KB), the log file is renamed and a new log file is created.
