Specifies the path represented by the TEMP variable.
To change the value of this entry, in Control Panel use System, click the Advanced tab, and then click Environment Variables. In the User variables for user-name dialog box, select TEMP, click Edit, and then enter the new data in the Variable Value dialog box.
To make changes to the entries in this subkey effective, you must log off and then log on again. Changes to these variables take effect either when a non-Windows-based application is run or when the command prompt is used.
Caution
- The data type of entries in this subkey must be REG_EXPAND_SZ. If a user or application changes the data type, the system will not replace the variable with its intended value.
