You can use the ipconfig /registerdns command to initiate dynamic registration manually for the Domain Name System (DNS) names and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses that are configured at a computer. This option can assist in troubleshooting a failed DNS name registration or in resolving a dynamic update problem between a client and the DNS server without restarting the client.
By default, the ipconfig /registerdns command refreshes all Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) address leases and registers all related DNS names that are configured and used by the client computer.
To renew DNS client registration
At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
ipconfig /registerdns
