Description

Specifies where the File Replication service (FRS) stores its trace log files.

If you change the value of this entry, then FRS creates new trace log files in the directory specified, but it does not move existing trace log files to the new location. Also, FRS does not delete or maintain log files in the original location.

This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.

Activation Method

To make changes to the value of this entry effective, you must stop and restart FRS.

Tip

  • If you have more than one hard drive, you can improve disk performance by storing the FRS trace log files on a different hard drive than the one that stores the FRS database and replica tree.
