Dirquota template export

Exports quota templates to a file.

Note

To use this command, you must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group.

Syntax

dirquota template export /file:<Path> [/template:<TemplateName>] [/remote:<ComputerName>]

Parameters

Description

/file:<Path>

Exports quota templates to the XML file at path Path.

/template:<TemplateName>

Exports only the template TemplateName. If you do not use this parameter, by default all templates in the file are exported.

/remote:<ComputerName>

Performs the operation on the remote computer ComputerName.

Remarks

  • You can use the XML file created by this command for importing quota templates by using the Dirquota template import command.

  • The shortest sequence of characters that uniquely identifies a parameter can be used as an abbreviation. For example, the following two commands are equivalent:

    dirquota t e /f:quotatemplates.xml
    dirquota template export /file:quotatemplates.xml
    
  • To perform operations on a remote computer by using the **/remote:**ComputerName parameter:

    • You must be logged on with a domain account that is a member of the Administrators group on both the local computer and the remote computer.

    • The remote computer must be running Windows Server 2008, and File Server Resource Manager must be installed.

    • The Remote File Server Resource Manager Management exception on the remote computer must be enabled. You enable this exception by using Windows Firewall in Control Panel.

    Note

    When you export templates on a remote computer by using the /remote: parameter, the XML file specified by the /file: parameter is saved on the local computer.

Examples

  • To export the User Quota template to the file D:\Usertemplate.xml, type:

    dirquota template export /file:d:\usertemplate.xml /template:"user quota"
    
  • To export all templates from the remote computer FILESERVER1 to the local file C:\templates.xml, type:

    dirquota template export /file:c:\templates.xml /remote:fileserver1
