Requirement Messages During Setup

You can install Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 only on a computer that is running Windows Small Business Server 2003 with Service Pack 1

You must install Windows SBS 2003 Service Pack 1

You must install Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003

You must install Service Pack 2 for Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 before running Setup

The computer must be running Internet Information Services 5.0 or later

You must install and enable Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0

You cannot install the evaluation version of the Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Technologies on this computer

You must have the Windows Small Business Server 2003 Administration and Monitoring components installed.

There is a problem with the location where Setup is attempting to install Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Update Services

An instance of Microsoft Management Console is running

The Windows Components Wizard is running

Windows Server Update Services 2.0 Release Candidate is installed

Windows Server Update Services 3.0 is installed

You must install Exchange 2000 Service Pack 3 before upgrading

You must install Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 Service Pack 1 and update before upgrading

You must install Small Business Server 2000 Service Pack 1 before upgrading

You must install SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 before upgrading

You must install Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 before upgrading

Internet Connection Sharing is not included with Windows Small Business Server

Only one Small Business Server can be in the domain

Remove the following Exchange components before upgrading

Remove the following Windows components before upgrading

The DNS domain name cannot contain DBCS (Double-Byte Character Set) or extended characters

Language mismatch

The file system for the operating system must be formatted as NTFS

The NetBIOS domain name contains nonstandard characters

The Windows Server 2003 POP3 service is installed on this computer

This computer is running an unsupported version of Exchange server

Windows NT 4.0 backup domain controller prevents the domain from installing in native mode

Windows Small Business Server 2003 cannot be installed on a domain controller that is not assigned the operations master roles

You must be a member of the Domain Admins, Schema Admins, and Enterprise Admins groups

You must be logged on using the built-in Administrator account

You must close the Windows Components page

You must reset your client access licenses to 5

Memory requirement

Shared Modem Service is not supported in Windows Small Business Server 2003 and will be removed

The computer name contains nonstandard characters

The Directory Services Restore Mode password will be synchronized with the built-in Administrator account password

The existing Small Business Server must be removed from the network after completing the migration

The Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes no longer supports Authenticated POP or CRAM-MD5 encryption

This computer has more than two processors

This computer is running a Windows service pack

You must purchase client access licenses

You should back up your server before upgrading

Your computer will be converted to Windows Small Business Server licensing mode
