The file system for the operating system must be formatted as NTFS
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Setup cannot continue because the partition where the operating system is installed (also called the system drive) must be configured with the NTFS file system.
You must cancel Setup, convert the system drive to NTFS, and then restart Setup.
To convert a partition to NTFS
Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then press ENTER.
At the command prompt, type convertdrive_letter: /fs:ntfs, and then press ENTER.
For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D with the NTFS file system.
Note
For more information about Convert.exe, click Start, click Help (in Windows 2000 Server) or Help and Support (in Windows Server 2003), and then search for “convert.exe.” NTFS provides security features such as file encryption, file permissions, and disk quotas. Additionally, to create the Windows Small Business Server domain, Active Directory is installed, which requires an NTFS partition.
