To perform this procedure, you must be logged on locally to the administration Web site with a domain user account that is a member of the Administrators group. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure.

Uninstalling RMS

To Uninstall RMS

  1. Log on to the server as a member of the local Administrators group on which you want to uninstall RMS.

    Important

    If you are removing RMS from a server in the root cluster, you must first unprovision it by going to the Global Administration page and clicking Remove RMS from this Web site. You do not have to unprovision a server in a licensing-only cluster before uninstalling RMS on it.

  2. Open Add or Remove Programs from Control Panel.

  3. In the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Windows Rights Management Services, and then click Remove to remove RMS with SP2.
