Importing and Using the RMS Management Pack

To Import and Use the RMS Management Pack

  1. Log on to the computer as a member of the local Administrators group.

  2. Copy the RMS Management Pack (RMS_MOMPack.akm) from the %ProgramFiles%\Windows Rights Management Services\Tools folder to the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) server.

  3. Open the MOM Administrator console, and then import the RMS Management Pack by using the following steps:

    1. In the console tree of the MOM Administrator console, expand the Rules item, and then right-click the Processing Rule Groups item.

    2. On the shortcut menu, click Import Management Pack. The Import Management Pack dialog box is displayed.

    3. Click Browse, and then select the RMS_MOMPack.akm.

  4. Specify the merge or replace options. For more information about merge and replace options, see "Exporting and Importing Management Packs" on the Microsoft Web site (https://www.microsoft.com/).

Click Replace. The replace option causes the imported management pack to overwrite existing processing rule groups; no user comments are preserved. If you want to merge this management pack with an existing management pack, you should do so in a test environment, and then use the Replace option when you deploy the management pack in the production environment.

  5. Click Import to import the management pack.

  6. In the MOM Administrator console, select the Configuration item, then click the Agent Managers folder.

  7. Right-click the name of the server on which you have imported the RMS Management Pack, and then click Scan Managed Computers Now.
