Deployment Tools Supported Platforms

The following table describes the supported platforms for Windows deployment tools. All the tools mentioned are related to deploying a platform (x86, 64-bit or IA-64) from the corresponding deployment platforms. For technical description of each tool, see Deployment Tools Technical Reference.

  • Drvload does not apply to downlevel deployment platforms or Windows Vista Operating System other than Windows PE 2.0.
  • Bcdedit/Diskpart refer to versions shipped with Windows Vista only and do not apply to downlevel deployment platforms.
  • Windows System Image Manager (Windows SIM) cannot be run from within Windows PE 2005 or Windows PE 2.0.
