On each front-end Web server, install a virus scanner compatiblewith Windows SharePoint Services, such as McAfee PortalShield 1.0for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server. On the first front-end Webserver, enable virus scanning.

Enable virus scanning

  1. On the first front-end Web server, click Start , click All Programs , point to Administrative Tools , and thenclick SharePoint Central Administration .

  2. In the Security Configuration section, click Configureantivirus settings.

  3. Select the options you want for your deployment. Forinformation about options, see the documentation for your antivirussoftware and Configuring Antivirus Protection in theWindows SharePoint Services Administrator's Guide.
