Redirecting Users of Previous Releases

You can redirect users who are homed on either Office Communications Server 2007 or Live Communications Server 2005 with SP1 to the URL of a server that is running either Communicator Web Access (2007 release) or Communicator Web Access (2005 release), respectively.

To specify a redirect URL

  1. Log on to the computer that is running Communicator Web Access Snap-in as a member of the Administrators group and the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group or as a member of the Administrators group and a member of a trustee group to which Office Communications Server 2007 R2 server administration permissions have been delegated.

  2. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Communicator Web Access Snap-in.

  3. In the console tree, expand the FQDN of the computer that is hosting the virtual server that you want to configure with a redirect URL, right-click the name of the virtual server, and then click Properties.

  4. On the Properties page, click the General tab. In the URL box, type the URL of the server to which you want to redirect users of either Communicator Web Access (2007 release) or Communicator Web Access (2005 release), and then click OK.

  5. When you are finished, click OK.
