Testing the Web Site

[This is preliminary documentation and is subject to change. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

After you create one or more virtual servers and, if necessary, after you publish the virtual server for external users, you are ready to test access to the Web site.

If you are using pop-up blocker software, ensure that the Communicator Web Access URI has been added to the list of allowed sites.

To test the Web site for internal users

  1. Log on to a computer that is inside your organization’s firewall.

  2. Open a supported Internet browser, and then type the URI of the internal virtual server in the address bar. For example, https://cwa.contoso.com/.

  3. In the Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access window, click Sign In, type your Office Communications Server sign-in address, and then click Sign In.

  4. If you are prompted, click User name, and then type or verify your sign-in address using the format <domain>\<username>. If you are using single sign-on and you have previously signed in, you do not need to supply your username or password.

  5. Click Password, type your Office Communications Server account password, and then click OK.

  6. A separate Communicator Web Access client window will open.
