Version 2 of the free-as-in-beer Offline Virtual Machine Servicing Tool is online.

V2 replaces version 1 gives you new support for Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Manager 2008, and Windows Server 2008. In addition, version 2 of the tool supports System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP1, System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, and Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP1.

When you install this Solution Accelerator, the installer determines which version of System Center Virtual Machine Manager resides on the target computer, and configures the Offline Virtual Machine Servicing Tool 2.0 accordingly. Note: Certain features of the tool are only available when it is installed with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008.

Download the Offline Virtual Machine Servicing Tool 2.0 now.

Building a Hyper-V Cluster on two Windows 2008 (R2) nodes      Paul Weterings   |   Edit   |   Show History
I've kept notes on building two systems to use as nodes for building a cluster to make the Hyper-V role 'Higly available' on the cluster. New blog items are being added on a semi-monthly basis as I cover new area's such as building a SAN for the cluster to connect to using iSCSI. Initially using Open source (freenas, Openfiler), then 3rd party windows software and later Windows Storage Server 2008.

Here you can find the initial building of the cluster and installation of Hyper-V

Here's what happened when I bumped into the cluster validation error when using FreeNas (the Persistent Reservation error)

Then I wanted to distribute the VM's over the nodes in Windows 2008

Whoopee!, Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V clusters have Cluster Shared Volumes!
