Installing Streaming Media Services
The default installation of Streaming Media Services installs the Windows Media Server role service, which includes the following:
Windows Media Services (snap-in). Enables you to configure and manage Windows Media Services 2008 by using Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
Windows Media Services (service). Enables you to stream digital media content to clients over an intranet or the Internet.
