Description

Specifies the size of the Log Manager file. The size of this file affects the maintenance of the Log Manager file and the performance of Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ). Message Queuing performs checkpoints, in which it saves the current log entries, when the log file occupies more than half of the space allocated for it. If the value of this entry is too small, then Message Queuing takes checkpoints frequently, diminishing overall performance. If the file is too large, then it consumes unnecessary disk space.

This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.

Caution

  • Do not change the value of this entry. An inappropriate value can interfere with logging and with the operation of Message Queuing.
