How do I convert a drive or partition formatted for the file allocation table (FAT) file system to the NTFS file system?

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

At the command prompt, type convert drive letter: /FS:NTFS.

An NTFS drive cannot be converted back to FAT. For more information, see "File systems" in Windows Help.
