Recycling Worker Processes in IIS 6.0

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

In worker process isolation mode, you can configure IIS to periodically restart worker processes so that you can recycle faulty Web applications. Recycling ensures that applications in those pools remain healthy and that system resources are recovered.

You can configure worker processes to restart based on one of several options, including elapsed time, the number of requests served, scheduled times, and memory usage.

IISĀ 5.0 isolation mode does not offer these features.
