Description

Specifies the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port that Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ) uses to ping servers. Message Queuing uses an internal ping algorithm to quickly determine the availability and configuration of a server.

This entry does not exist in the registry by default. You can add it by using the registry editor Regedit.exe.

Note

  • This entry is used only when the value of UsePing is 1.

Caution

  • This value must be the same on all computers in the enterprise. Using different UPD ports can significantly increase the time it takes for Message Queuing to establish network connections.
