Rename or move a folder

To rename a folder

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DFS Management.

  2. In the console tree, under the Namespaces node, right-click a folder, and then click Rename Folder.

  3. Type the new name in the New Name field.

To move a folder

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DFS Management.

  2. In the console tree, under the Namespaces node, right-click a folder, and then click Move Folder.

  3. Enter the folder path in the New location field or click Browse to locate a folder.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Local Administrators group on each server that hosts the namespace, or you must have been delegated the ability to manage an existing namespace.

  • You can also drag and drop folders in the console tree.
