Appendix E: Unattended Setup

Updated: August 22, 2005

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 with SP1

Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 is not installed by default when you install the Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003 operating system. To simplify the setup process on multiple computers, you can set up IIS 6.0 while the server is unattended. To do so, you can either create an answer file that you can use to install IIS 6.0 at the same time you install Windows Server 2003, or you can perform an unattended installation of IIS 6.0 after you install Windows Server 2003.
