Notes

  • To open Printers and Faxes, click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes.

  • You can also add ports on the Ports tab in the Print Server Properties dialog box. To open the Print Server Properties dialog box, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers and Faxes. On the File menu, click Server Properties.

  • AppleTalk Printing Devices is available only when AppleTalk protocol is installed. If AppleTalk Printing Devices is not available, click Cancel to close the Add Printer Wizard and follow the procedures to add optional networking components (see Related Topics).

  • Your system must use the AppleTalk protocol if you want to add an AppleTalk printing device. You might need other Macintosh services if you want to coexist with an AppleTalk network system. For more information, see Related Topics.

  • Print Server for Macintosh is not available on the 64-bit versions of the Windows operating systems.

Information about functional differences

  • Your server might function differently based on the version and edition of the operating system that is installed, your account permissions, and your menu settings. For more information, see Viewing Help on the Web.
