Managing Reporting

Windows SBS 2008 provides daily server reports that can be e-mailed to recipients as defined by the network administrator. In Windows SBS Console, the Reports tab displays administrative tasks that allow you to generate and manage reports.

By default, Windows SBS 2008 includes two reports:

  • A Summary Network Report, which includes summary information about the performance of your network.

  • A Detailed Network Report, which includes detailed information about the performance of your network.

The following table lists the administrative tasks that are available to assist you with managing reports on your network.

Task Name Description

View report properties

Opens the ReportNameProperties page of the selected report, which allows you to:

  • Modify the name and description of the report.

  • Modify the monitoring content that is generated in the server report.

  • Modify e-mail recipients for the report.

  • Modify a recurring schedule for the report.

Generate report

Generates the selected reports and displays it in the details pane.

Generate and e-mail report

Generates the selected report, displays it in the details pane, and sends the report as an e-mail to the user account specified in the report settings.

View archives

Displays the Archives tab on the ReportNameProperties page of the selected report.

Add a new report

Opens the New Report Properties page, which allows you to:

  • Specify the name and description of the report.

  • Specify the monitoring content that is generated in the server report.

  • Specify e-mail recipients for the report.

  • Modify a recurring schedule for the report.

Refreshes the Reports page.
