Manage Web Sites by using Windows SBS Console

You can use the Windows SBS Console to set up your organization’s Web sites. On the Shared Folders and Web Sites tab, the Web Sites page provides a central location where you can perform many of the tasks that are necessary to set up and manage the following sites:

  • Remote Web Workplace   Enables users to connect to the network and access network resources remotely.

  • Outlook Web Access   Enables users to send or receive e-mail messages.

  • Internal Web site   Enables users to collaborate through the intranet with other users in the network.

After you run the Set up your Office Live Small Business Web sites, the following two Web sites that are hosted by Office Live are also listed on the Web Sites page of the Windows SBS Console. They are:

  • Business Web site   Helps you promote and grow your business on the Internet.

  • Business Application Web site   Helps you collaborate with external partners and can be used to share business information with suppliers, vendors, partners, customers, and other businesses.

The Windows SBS Web sites can be managed using the Windows SBS Console. On the Shared Folders and Web Sites tab, Web sites includes the administrative tasks. The Web site-specific administrative tasks are displayed only after you select a specific Web site on this page.

The following table lists tasks for administering Web sites by using the Windows SBS Console.

Web site administrative tasks

Task Name Description

Disable this site

Disables the selected Web site.

Enable this site

Enables the selected Web site.

Browse this site

Launches the selected Web site on the Internet browser.

View site properties

Enables you view or edit the general information (such as site title and site description), user access permissions, and the Advanced settings of the selected Web site.

Manage permissions

Enables you to manage user access to the selected Web site.

Update Office Live Small Business links on my server

Updates the Office Live Small Business Web site links on the server so that the links are functional from Remote Web Workplace, the Windows SBS Console, and the Desktop Links gadget.
