About Events list

Use the Events list to post information about dates that are important for your team. By default, a view of the Events list appears on the home page of your SharePoint team Web site. You can copy events from the Events list to your calendar (requires a calendar, such as Outlook 2000, that supports iCalendar files, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later).

Besides viewing events on the home page, you can go to the Events page to easily view all events or a selection of events. Past events disappear from the home page but are still available on the Events page.

In addition to viewing all the events, the following predefined views are available on the Events page:

  • Today's Events   Events scheduled to start on the current day.

  • My Events   Events created or modified by the current user.

  • Upcoming Events   Events scheduled in the future.

  • Calendar   A grid view that displays the current month. You can scroll the calendar to see events scheduled in different months.
