Configuring DNS settings for Message Queuing

If you are operating in an environment that requires the resolution of DNS domain names, such as an environment in which queries are sent to Active Directory Domain Services, the DNS settings (for example, the DNS server addresses) must be configured properly on each computer for Message Queuing to resolve computer names correctly.

It is recommended that you verify that each computer is set with a fully qualified DNS name. Otherwise, some Message Queuing operations may fail. This property is typically set automatically by the Net Logon service on each computer in a Server domain. To check this property, open Active Directory Users and Computers. In the console tree, right-click the applicable computer object, click Properties, and on the General page, inspect DNS name.
