Remove a User Account from a Site or an Application (IIS 7)

Remove an IIS Manager user account or Windows user account when you no longer want the user to configure delegated features in a site or an application. You can also remove a Windows group if you do not want users of that group to configure delegated features in a site or an application.

  • None.

To remove a user account from a site or an application

  1. Open IIS Manager. For information about opening IIS Manager, see Open IIS Manager (IIS 7).

  2. In the Connections pane, expand the Sites node and select the site for which you want to remove permission from a user. Or, expand the site and select the application for which you want to remove permission from a user.

  3. In Features View, double-click IIS Manager Permissions.

  4. On the IIS Manager Permissions page, select a user or group from the list.

  5. In the Actions pane, click Deny User and then click Yes.
