Code 45: Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer

Device Manager displays the following message in the Device Properties dialog box, on the General tab, in the Device Status text box:

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

Diagnosis

The device is not present or was previously attached to the computer. If Device Manager is started with the environment variable DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES set to 1, any previously attached devices that are not present are displayed in the device list and assigned this error code.

Resolution

Technically, no resolution is necessary, because this message is only visible when you want to view previously attached devices. To clear the message, attach the device to the computer.
