Configuring Secure Sockets Layer in IIS 7

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption protects confidential or personal information sent between a client and a server. When SSL is enabled, remote clients access your site by using URLs that start with https://.

For information about the levels at which you can perform these procedures, and the modules, handlers, and permissions that are required to perform these procedures, see Secure Sockets Layer Feature Requirements (IIS 7).
