Dialog box element Description

IPv4 Router

Specifies whether this computer is enabled as a router. A router can forward network packets from one network segment to another.

Local area network (LAN) routing only

Specifies that this computer is a LAN-only router and does not require demand-dial or virtual private network (VPN) connections.

LAN and demand-dial routing

Specifies that this computer is a LAN and demand-dial router and supports virtual private network (VPN) connections.

IPv6 Router

Specifies whether this computer is enabled as a router for IPv6 traffic. A router can forward network packets from one network segment to another.
