Checklist: Set Up a Telephony Client

Step Reference

Review key concepts.

See Telephony Concepts.

Install any necessary telephony hardware and software on the clients.

See manufacturer's documentation.

On each client:

  • Windows 2000: specify the telephony servers to be used by the client.

  • Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP: add the Windows Remote Service Provider.

See Specify Telephony Servers on a Telephony Client.

Configure general dialing rules, area code rules, and calling cards as required for users.

See Help in Network Center and your dialing tools.
