Restart Manager attempts to shut down all applications and services that are using resources needed by an installation or upgrade program. If any of these attempts to shut down an application or service fail, a restart might be required to complete the installation or upgrade.

Resolve

A restart might be required

In order for the application or service that was identified in the event message details to function correctly, a system restart might be required. Restart Manager will attempt to resolve the issue the next time it runs.

Verify

To verify that the shutdown process was successful, review the event log after a system restart or after the completion of the installation or upgrade process. If no further events are logged, the issue has been resolved.
